JAXA is Japan's national aerospace agency. On the lunar tunnel it is the agency owner of SLIM (Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) with Multi-Band Camera, LEV-1, and LEV-2 (Sora-Q), and co-manifested Sora-Q with Takara Tomy / Sony partners on ispace Hakuto-R Mission 1. SLIM achieved a soft but tipped landing with partial surface ops. Hakuto-R M1 hard-landed before surface demonstration. With Toyota, JAXA is also building a pressurized crew rover (Lunar Cruiser) for crewed.
